Local businesses, charities and churches are working together in Wem to provide free food to families during the school holidays.
On Mondays and Thursdays in each school holiday since spring 2019 a free breakfast/brunch has been available at the Youth Club. The project is a collaboration between local businesswomen Claire and Kerry, the Youth Club and Wem Food Hub. Everyone is welcome, with families asked to register in advance so that they have an idea of numbers.
Now a new family lunch club is being trialled on Wednesday 30th October at the Baptist Church. Lunch 4a Bunch invites families, carers and children to come along for a free meal.
Its a fantastic example of how a community can work together to provide free food to their community.
