Take Action

Throughout 2018 we have talked to organisations and individuals across Shropshire to find out what would make a real difference to people in food poverty. The Menu for Action presents all the ideas generated into a comprehensive plan for Shropshire. The Menu presents a range of options, but it is for individual communities and organisations to decide which options should be prioritised in each part of the county.

Now we need you to tell us what you think about the plan

Is there something you think would work well in your area?

Would you like to be involved in addressing food poverty?

Would you like to be kept informed about the Shropshire Food Poverty Alliance?

Could you donate to your local food bank?

You can donate food items in many supermarkets across Shropshire - look out for the donation boxes near the checkouts

Food banks often need:

  • Tea/coffee

  • Biscuits

  • UHT milk

  • Fruit juice

  • Pet food

  • Cereal

  • Soup

  • Pasta/ rice

  • Tinned tomatoes/ pasta sauce

  • Tinned meat/fish

  • Tinned vegetables/ fruit
